We test before we replace

Most 'dead battery' calls aren't just a dead battery. It might be a failing alternator, a corroded ground, or a parasitic drain pulling the battery flat overnight. Before we sell you anything we run a load test on the battery and a charging-system test on the alternator. Five minutes tells us whether the battery is actually bad, the alternator is under-charging, or something is draining the car while it sits.

If the battery is the problem, we'll quote the correct group size and chemistry up front. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too — and we won't replace a good battery just because you're already paying for a visit.

What's included in a mobile battery replacement

  • Battery load test + charging-system test before we quote
  • New battery (Interstate, Duracell/East Penn, or Bosch AGM) backed by a 3-year manufacturer replacement warranty
  • Memory-saver during swap — radio presets, seat memory, and learned values are preserved
  • Terminal cleaning, anti-corrosion treatment, and proper torque
  • BMS/IBS registration on European platforms (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Volvo, Mini)
  • Old battery hauled away and recycled — no core fee, no disposal hassle

Registration matters on modern cars

Most vehicles built after about 2010 — especially European — need the new battery 'registered' to the battery monitor (BMS or IBS). Skip that step and the alternator keeps charging like the old battery is still in there. The new battery gets under-charged, sulfates early, and dies in 12–18 months instead of 4–5 years. We handle the BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Volvo, Mini, and Land Rover registrations on-site with the correct scan tool.

Vehicles we handle on-site

Trunk-mounted batteries (most BMW, some Mercedes and Cadillac), rear-footwell batteries (Mercedes E/S-Class, some Audi), and start/stop AGM systems are all driveway jobs for us. Hybrid 12V auxiliary batteries (Prius, RAV4 Hybrid, Camry Hybrid, Ford hybrids) we quote per vehicle because the location and access vary. We carry the most common Group 35, 47/H5, 48/H6, 49/H8, and 94R AGM sizes on the truck so most jobs are one visit.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a mobile car battery replacement cost in Raleigh?
Battery pricing depends on the group size, chemistry (standard flooded, AGM, or start/stop AGM), and whether your vehicle needs BMS registration. We give you a firm quote after we confirm what your car takes — no surprise add-ons in the driveway.
Do you register or program the new battery to my car?
Yes — and this matters. Most vehicles built after 2010 (especially European) need the new battery 'registered' to the battery monitor (BMS/IBS) or the alternator will under-charge it and the new battery will fail early. We handle the BMW/Mercedes/Audi/VW/Volvo registration on-site with the right scan tool.
How fast can you get to me for a dead battery?
Same-day in most cases when you call before 2pm — usually within 2–4 hours. We carry the most common Group 35, 47/H5, 48/H6, 49/H8, and 94R AGM sizes on the truck.
How do I know if I need a battery or an alternator?
We test both before we sell you anything. A load test on the battery plus a charging-system test on the alternator tells us in 5 minutes whether the battery is bad, the alternator is under-charging, or there's a parasitic drain. We won't replace a good battery.
What are the signs my car battery is failing?
Slow cranking on cold mornings, dash lights that dim when you turn the key, having to jump the car after it sits a couple of days, a swollen battery case, or a 'check charging system' message. Most lead-acid batteries last 4–5 years in North Carolina heat; AGM batteries 5–7. If yours is in that range and acting up, get it tested.
Will I lose my radio presets and settings when the battery is swapped?
Not with us. We use a memory-saver on every job so the radio, clock, seat memory, learned transmission shift points, and steering-angle calibration all carry over. On a few European platforms a quick re-learn drive is still needed — we'll tell you if yours is one of them.
What battery brands do you install?
We default to Interstate, Duracell (East Penn), and Bosch AGM — all backed by 3-year manufacturer replacement warranties. If your car is under manufacturer warranty we can install your OEM-spec battery too.
