What we test before recommending a new battery

Batteries don't fail alone. A dying alternator will kill a new battery in weeks. Before we sell you a battery, we test the full picture.

  • Battery voltage and load test under actual cranking conditions (not a parts-store guess)
  • Alternator output at idle and under load
  • Battery terminals, ground straps, and main cable condition
  • Parasitic-draw test if the battery keeps going dead overnight
  • Charging profile on modern vehicles (BMW, Mercedes, VW/Audi run smart-charging that needs the new battery registered)

Batteries we install

We use quality batteries matched to your vehicle — group size, CCA, and chemistry (flooded, AGM, EFB for start/stop). No 'close enough' substitutions.

  • Conventional flooded batteries
  • AGM (absorbed glass mat) for start/stop, BMW, Mercedes, and most European platforms
  • EFB (enhanced flooded battery) for start/stop platforms that don't require AGM
  • Correct battery registration on BMW, Mercedes, VW, Audi, and Porsche — required so the charging system knows the battery is new

Where we replace batteries

Anywhere the car is sitting safely — your driveway, office parking lot, apartment complex, or roadside within our Triangle service area. We carry common sizes in the van and can pick up your specific battery same-visit for less common vehicles.

How we quote

Battery price depends on group size, chemistry (AGM/EFB costs more than flooded), and whether registration is required. We give you a firm written quote before booking — parts and labor itemized.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does mobile car battery replacement take?
Most jobs are 20–40 minutes in your driveway or parking lot, including the diagnostic. Registration on European vehicles adds a few minutes but doesn't require moving the car.
Do I need to register my new battery?
On most BMW, Mercedes, VW, Audi, and Porsche vehicles built in the last 10–15 years, yes — the charging system needs to know the battery is new so it charges it correctly. Skipping registration shortens the new battery's life. We have the scan tools to do it on-site.
What if the battery isn't the problem?
Our diagnostic covers the alternator and starting system too. If the alternator is failing, we'll tell you before you spend on a battery that'll just die again in weeks. If the diagnostic points elsewhere, we credit the diagnostic time toward the actual repair.
Do you cover roadside dead-battery calls?
Within the Triangle service area, yes — if your car is safely parked. We're not a jump-start service (AAA is faster and cheaper for that); we come out when you want the battery actually replaced so you're not calling for a jump again next morning.
Where do you serve?
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Apex, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Clayton, Knightdale, Morrisville, Wendell, and Rolesville.
What's your warranty?
12 months or 12,000 miles on parts and labor — whichever comes first.
