What we fix on a cooling-system call

Most cooling-system jobs are mobile-friendly:

  • Radiator replacement (most platforms)
  • Upper and lower radiator hose replacement
  • Thermostat and thermostat housing — common leak point
  • Water pump replacement on accessible platforms (some interference-engine timing setups need a shop)
  • Cooling-fan motor, relay, and fan-clutch service
  • Coolant flush and refill with correct manufacturer-spec coolant (not 'universal green')
  • Heater core leak diagnosis (replacement often needs a shop — we'll tell you up front)

Why coolant type matters

Modern vehicles use specific coolant chemistries (HOAT, OAT, P-HOAT, IAT) that don't mix well. We carry the right coolant for your platform — VW G13, Toyota Super Long Life, Dexcool, BMW HT-12, Mercedes 325, etc. Pouring the wrong color coolant in is a surprisingly common cause of mid-life cooling-system failure.

When the car is overheating

Don't keep driving it — keep driving an overheating engine and you risk warping the head, blowing a head gasket, or cracking the block. That turns a manageable repair into a much bigger one. We'll come to wherever the car is sitting, find the cause, and quote the fix on-site.

Mobile cooling-system pricing

Cooling-system work is quote-only — the price depends on the failed component, the platform, and labor access. A mobile diagnostic gets you a real answer before you commit to parts. Written quote before any work starts, 12 mo / 12,000 mi warranty on the repair.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace a radiator in my driveway?
On most vehicles, yes — radiator replacement is one of the more mobile-friendly cooling jobs. A handful of European platforms require front-end disassembly that's better in a shop; we'll tell you up front which category your vehicle falls into.
My car overheated once — do I need a full diagnostic?
Worth it. A one-time overheat could be a stuck thermostat, a low coolant level from a slow leak, a bad fan, or a failing water pump. The diagnostic (quote provided up front) finds the cause before the next overheat does damage you can't fix cheaply.
Can you use universal green coolant?
No — modern vehicles use specific coolant chemistries that don't mix safely. Using the wrong coolant accelerates corrosion, gels seals, and can cause water-pump failure. We carry the correct manufacturer-spec coolant for your platform.
Do I need to flush my coolant on a schedule?
Yes, on the interval your manufacturer specifies (typically every 60k–100k miles depending on coolant type). Old coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors and starts eating the cooling system from the inside.
Where do you serve?
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Apex, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Clayton, Knightdale, Morrisville, Wendell, and Rolesville.
What's your warranty?
12 months or 12,000 miles on parts and labor — whichever comes first.
