- How do I know if I need new brake pads or full pads and rotors?
- If your pads are down to 3mm or less and rotors are still within spec thickness (no deep grooves, no warping), pads alone are fine. If rotors are grooved, warped (you feel pedal pulsation), or under minimum thickness stamped on the hub, they need to be replaced — we replace rotors, we don't resurface. We measure both at your driveway before quoting (included with a diagnostic, or pre-repair if you haven't had one).
- How long does mobile brake pad and rotor replacement take?
- Most front- or rear-axle jobs take 60–90 minutes in your driveway. Doing both axles takes about 2 hours. You can stay inside — we'll text when it's ready for the road test.
- Can you do brakes in an apartment parking lot?
- Yes, as long as we have a reasonably level spot and you're allowed to have service done on property. We bring our own jack stands, wheel chocks, and a drip mat. Most apartment complexes in Raleigh, Cary, and Apex are fine with it.
- Do you guarantee the brake work?
- Yes — 12 months / 12,000 miles on parts and labor. If a pad squeals abnormally or a rotor warps inside the warranty, we come back and make it right at no charge.
- How often should brake pads be replaced in Raleigh traffic?
- Front pads typically last 30,000–50,000 miles depending on how much stop-and-go you drive (I-40, Capital Blvd, and US-1 commuters wear them faster). Rear pads usually go 50,000–70,000 miles. We'll tell you the remaining life on every visit so nothing sneaks up on you.
