Model-specific issues we specifically check
- Tacoma & Tundra (2005–2010): frame rust — Toyota issued frame buyback/replacement programs; we check the frame condition and history
- Tacoma 3.5 V6 (2016+): cold-start rattle, transmission tuning quirks, low-speed gear hunting
- Tundra 5.7 V8: generally bulletproof — we check secondary air injection (cold-climate models), exhaust manifold leaks
- 2AZ-FE 2.4L (Camry, RAV4, Scion tC ~2002–2009): oil consumption, head bolt thread failure — check oil level and look for prior head work
- 2GR-FE 3.5 V6 (Camry, Avalon, RX350, Highlander): oil-line failure recall on early years — confirm completion
- Prius & hybrid models: HV battery state-of-health scan, inverter coolant pump (Gen 2 Prius), brake actuator (Gen 3)
- Lexus IS/GS/LS V8 (UZ-series): generally stellar — we check starter (buried under intake on some), VVT-i oil-line
- 4Runner, GX, LX: KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension) leak check, frame condition, third-row seat condition
